Rosenborg BK lost 0-1 to Seasters Odesa in the first leg of their Europa Cup qualifying tie in Nisporeni, Moldova, after defensive errors led to the lone goal. The match took place on Wednesday, with Seasters Odesa unable to host home matches in Ukraine due to the ongoing war. Rosenborg, who finished third in the Toppserien in 2025, now face a return leg in Trondheim next week to overturn the deficit. Currently, Rosenborg BK sit 7th in the Eliteserien with 24 points from 17 games, a goal difference of +3, and recent form WWLWW, 17 points behind leaders Bodo/Glimt ahead of their away fixture on 30 August.

The goal came from a defensive lapse in midweek, allowing Seasters Odesa to capitalise and take a 1-0 lead into the second leg. Rosenborg will need to improve their defensive organisation ahead of the home return, where they aim to progress to the next qualifying round. Both teams must pass two rounds to reach the cup stage, with the tournament beginning at the round of 16 for the 16 qualifiers.

Vålerenga won 2-0 away at Radomlje in the first qualifying round, with Eline Hegg scoring the opener from 16 metres after approximately one hour of play. Substitute Naina Inauen sealed the win with a strike from 17 metres in the final seconds. Hegg said: "Eline Hegg bøyde ballen i det lengste hjørnet fra 16 meter." Inauen added: "I kampens siste sekunder fikk innbytter Naina Inauen kjempetreff og hamret ballen i mål fra 17 meter." Vålerenga, who finished second in the Toppserien last season, lost to Malmö earlier in August, dropping them into Europa Cup qualification. Their return leg against Radomlje is scheduled for next week at home.

Despite the Europa Cup setback, Rosenborg BK remain focused on domestic improvement, currently 7th in the league with 25 goals scored and 22 conceded this season.
